Kansai General Members Competition A Friendly General Members Fun competition.

This event, for the past two years, has been held in the autumn.

“2017 Kansai general portion Aikido competition” will be held on April 29th (Saturday – a national holiday) at Honbu dojo.

We look forward to your participation.


The competition is a mixed team event and tanto randori as well as embu competitions.

Teams will be determined by lottery on the day of the event.

This Aikido fun day is sponsored by the (NPO) Shodokan Aikido Federation, and management is conducted by the Kansai General Aikido competitions Executive Committee – 2017.

Date: –  April 29th, 2017 (Saturday)

Starting time: 10:00 am – 12:00 (noon) 13:00 – 16:00 (approx)

From 10:00 am until noon – determining teams followed by embu/randori practices. From 13:00 until 16:00 (approx) teams will compete.

Location: Shodokan Honbu Dojo.

Participation fee: 2,000 yen

Please bring your lunch.

Participation Members: Only general members (working people) regular or non-regular.

Elementary school students, junior and senior high school students and university students are not eligible to participate.

After Party:

Following the completion of all competitions, there will be a party in the dojo.

Participating members should inform the event organizers of their intention to join the party or not, prior to the day’s events.

Party Participation fee:  1,000 yen.

Event Format:

Although the day’s activities will focus on team events, it is also possible to enter individually representing your branch or dojo.

After determining groups; each will gather for approximately one hour to arrange their own competition content.

Competition Content:

Event: – Mixed Team.

  1. Demonstration competition – anything goes.
  2. Six techniques.
  3. Eight technique
  4. Open waza – one minute of various waza.
  5. Tanto Taisubaki.
  6. Randori embu – 45 seconds (without changing tori or uke)

Randori team competition: Three-person teams.

Please note that randori competing members will be paired based on age, gender, ability and weight; this will allow for all members to enjoy the day’s festivities.
