Progress Update on the new Tokyo Dojo.
The purpose of this notice is to keep you updated on the progress made for the new Tokyo Shodokan Aikido Federation dojo.
As we move into Autumn (in Japan), we in Shodokan Honbu hope this message finds everyone in both good health and good spirits.
Firstly, we would like to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt gratitude for the generous support you have all extended to us in connection with fundraising for the establishment of a new Tokyo Dojo. Your patience, contributions, and cooperation are sincerely appreciated.
Initially, we had planned to open the dojo in September; however, due to various issues, including ceiling height, floor space, accessibility, noise, vibration, and overall costs, these concerns remain unresolved. As such, we have not yet finalized a location. While we fully understand that some compromises on our selection criteria may be necessary, finding the ideal venue is proving to be a formidable task. Nevertheless, we are committed and striving to secure the best possible venue and location.
We feel a strong sense of responsibility to ensure that the dojo we establish is genuinely worthy of the immense support we have received. Without question, our goal is to secure a place that reflects the significance of your support and contributions. We are therefore continuing our efforts and are confident we will find the ideal building in which to open the new dojo.
Tokyo properties can become available quickly and often are rented or sold swiftly, so timing is crucial. Progress has been slower than anticipated; nevertheless, we are doing everything possible to bring you all good news as soon as possible.
Finally, please take good care of yourselves – stay healthy and safe.
