(NPO) Shodokan Aikido Federation

Membership Registration Guidelines

We would like to use this opportunity to explain our policy towards membership as well as the procedure to apply for registration as a member of ‘Specified Non-Profit Organisation Shodokan Aikido Federation.’

For all those who are already registered as regular members, we would like to offer our sincere thanks and appreciation for your participation in our federation’s activities.

For all those who are currently not members, we are grateful for your interest in our federation and encourage you to contact our federation’s Administrative Office (details below) to discuss the possibility of joining.

Shodokan Aikido was developed by Tomiki Kenji Shihan.  It was Tomiki Shihan’s life-long mission to spread the aikido techniques of Ueshiba Morihei as a modernised form of Japanese martial arts.  These techniques were developed into a systemized method of physical education, open to all people, as based on the ideas of Kano Jigoro.

The realisation of Shodokan Aikido as a form of life-long physical education, is an activity for the benefit of public good, by both preserving health in an enjoyable manner and also cultivating the mind and body in the area of self-defence.

(NPO) Shodokan Aikido Federation bears the duty of preserving Tomiki Shihan’s legacy of techniques, training system, and ideology while spreading aikido as a form of physical education for the benefit of the public good.  We humbly request your all important support in this task.

Please find below the guidelines for the forthcoming fiscal year.
